We absolutely adored working with Amberlee for about 3 months following the birth of our daughter. She has such a calming presence and is so fantastic with her. Nobody is able to give our baby a bottle but for some reason Amberlee could so we could get some much needed rest. Not only was she a miracle worker with our baby, but helped with some light housework which was a godsend during those first few months. She is super knowledgeable and great with the babies, while at the same time being non-judgemental and so gentle. I wish we could have her come every night! We would trust her with anything and she was such a joy to be around :). We'll miss her!!!

"What is a Postparum Doula?"

A postpartum doula provides families with information and support on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing, and coping skills for new parents. They may also help with light housework, meal preparation, breastfeeding support and share local resources for additional services that may be desired or needed.

"Why should I hire a postpartum doula?"

The extra set of hands gives parents some freedom and can take the weight off a bit. While family members may mean well, a postpartum doula stays up to date with a variety of ways to support families specifically during postpartum in real time.

Postpartum doulas provide evidence-based information and care with things such as infant feeding, physical and emotional recovery from childbirth, mother-baby bonding, infant soothing techniques, and basic newborn care. Light housekeeping, meal preparation and breastfeeding assistance are a few other services a postpartum doula may provide.

Still thinking about it?

Perhaps hiring your “postpartum bestie” can be the BEST decision you can make before your little honey makes their entrance! It can be extremely beneficial to have assistance  during the unpredictable time where your body is recovering from birth, and not to mention, the roller coaster of hormonal changes to come.

Postpartum doulas literally care for newborns and Mamas during postpartum, day to day or in some cases, night to night (like me). That way, you know, "this person knows what the heck they’re doing," and you can have the PEACE OF MIND to REST and RECOVER adequately.

A postpartum doula does not JUST care for newborns, and assist families with light housekeeping. A doula ALSO provides guidance, suggestions on a number of topics, a few of them being; day and night schedules for baby sleep, and feedings, breastfeeding support, techniques in soothing, swaddling, and may provide a list of referrals for other local services and MORE!
